What to expect
We aim to make your experience with us as relaxing and straight forward as possible, and knowing what to expect before you arrive can help you feel stress-free!
If you are visiting with a group of 6+ people, check out our party packages.
Step 1
Choose the piece you’d like to paint from our wide selection. Whether you’re dreaming of painting a teapot, piggy bank, unicorn or cup, we’ve got something to suit all tastes in our fabulous range of tablewares and ornaments.
Step 2
Choose your design from our library of inspirational images and books. You can bring your own too – just think about the size.
If you’re feeling a bit nervous about your creative abilities, there’s no need! You can trace a design on to your pottery - it couldn’t be easier.
Plus, we'll give you a full demonstration of tips and tricks before you start painting.
Step 3
It’s time to start painting! We have over 20 water based and non-toxic colours to choose from.
A painting session for adults usually provides about 2hrs of entertainment, children take a little less time.
If you’re planning a detailed project, please let us know when you book. Likewise if you have to dash off before your masterpiece is complete, you can continue it another day for an additional cost.
Step 4
Leave it with us to glaze and fire. This is when the magic happens! Firing turns your piece into a shiny wonder that is ready to use.
You items will be ready 3-5 weeks later. You must collect your pieces within 1 month of receiving your collection text. If you don’t get a text - please give us a call :)
Just visiting? We can post your items to you for an extra fee. Post is priced based on size and weight and is generally £6-25 - we can only post to UK addresses.
Pricing
You can choose from over 100 different pottery items ranging in price from £10 - £50. Most items are between £16- £25.
Prices include studio time, paints plus the glazing and firing process.
For about £20 you can spend a fun couple of creative hours painting a mug, a plate or a bowl whist enjoying a hot drink or sweet treat. And the special bit – you can collect it approx 3-5 weeks later to give as a gift or have as a prized possession at home!
It’s essential to book, especially during school holidays and on weekends.

How to book a pottery painting experience:
Please use the live calendar below to book a table for groups of up to 7 people.
WHEN USING THIS BOOKING SYSTEM, PLEASE NOTE:
⭐️ Having trouble using the booking system? Refresh the page and change nothing but the date and it will show available tables - for painting always leave it as 1 person attending and it will show available tables instead, pick a table that has enough seats for your group including any non-painters.
⭐️ You can book a table that has more seats than you need, if that’s the only table left on the day / time you’d like to visit.
❗️ Trying to book for today? Please call the studio within opening hours instead as you will not be able to book via this system.
❗️ Want to book for more than 7 people? Please use the group bookings page instead.
And some notes about booking in general… Please consider when planning your visit, that although our shop is on street level the bathroom is up a short flight of stairs (about 10 steps). If you’re after baby prints, it can be better to book Monday - Friday when the studio is quieter.
FAQ’s
We hope to make your experience as relaxing and straight forward as possible. Here’s some answers to those common queries.
Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Have a look at our big FAQ’s page here for more answers.
Why are there no tables avaialable?
If you are booking for a weekend, or during holidays there is every possibility we are fully booked.
⚠️ Before looking at another date, please make sure you have left the ‘How many people will be taking part? [Taster Throwing only]’ set at 1. It might help when booking for painting, think of this number as the number of tables.
If you have this set at 1, and no tables are showing up then we must be fully booked for this date / time.
(Sorry we know it’s a pain, and have tried everything we can to set the booking system up as simply as possible, but alas - this was the only way to make it work!).
Can I book to paint my thrown pots?
Absolutely! Please use the booking system above :) once you’ve selected a date and time you’ll be directed to a booking form, towards the bottom of this form it will ask for your ticket number (something like AAAA-41 which can be found on the receipt we asked you to take a picture of in your session).
If I dont finish painting my pottery in the time, can I come back another day?
Yes! If you don’t finish painting within your 2 hour slot, let the team know you would like to continue painting another day. They’ll wrap your pottery up for you, we’ll get you to take your pottery home with you as our storage space is limited. (We can’t accept any responsibility for your pottery once it leaves the studio.) Make sure to book a slot to return to paint using our normal painting booking form, and you will get another 2 hour slot for painting. From the 1st April 2024, we are changing how our painting continuation fee works - On weekdays, there will be £5pp studio fee plus any additional costs like drinks or cakes. On weekends, there will be a £10pp studio fee plus any additional costs. Any continuation sessions that take place before the 31st March 2024, will be at the old price.
Please note…
Please note when booking for a group of 6+ we will request a £10pp deposit is to be paid when we confirm your booking. Refunds are only given with 24hrs notice. We suggest the organiser collects payments from the other attendees in advance. Read our detailed T+C’s.
Glazing and firing your pottery:
We try our best to ensure that every aspect of the creative journey you take with us is fun and enjoyable. The final part of this journey involves the glazing and firing of your pottery up to temperatures in excess of 1000˚C. This process is carried out onsite by our studio assistants who treat each piece with the greatest love, care and attention.
We strive for perfection with every piece, however the kiln gods are not always on our side.
Painted ready made pieces: Occasionally glaze spotting can occur, as well as surface imperfections such as tiny bumps caused by brick dust flying around the kiln as it heats up, this dust can settle on items as the kiln temperature cools. If we feel it is safe to do so, we will try to fix glazing issues by re-firing the pottery. In the exceptional event of a piece of painted ready-made pottery cracking in the kiln we will offer compensation by way of a replacement voucher.
We hope you understand that we do everything we can to try and prevent such things, however it is not always possible. The unpredictable element can be both the charm and frustration of ceramics.
