SOLD OUT: Pottery painting, pints and paw prints @ Two By Two Brewery and Tap Room [paint a piece of pottery or bring your dog for paw prints]

This is an external event - hosted by us at Two By Two Brewery and Tap Room [Unit 8 Morley's Yard, Byker NE6 1PQ] not in our studio xoxo

Book to paint pottery and meet dog friends OR bring your dog and get their paw printed on pottery 💘

It’s at our fave brewery, co-hosted by everyone’s fave dog walker Jess Fox and Hound.

£10 per painter* deposit which will be taken off the item choose you paint on the day. We’ll glaze + fire your pottery, ready to collect from our studio 4-6 weeks later.

Limited places available - booking + advanced deposit payment essential - events with 2by2 usually sell out in 24hrs! There may be space for walk in paw prints on the day - but if you’d like to sit and paint I’d defo advise booking so you have seats reserved.

Feelin’ snacky? Two by Two brewery have a great bar snack menu - Grate Newcastle Cheeseboards, Block & Bottle pork pies and Scotch Eggs etc. What a treat.

* Please note this is a pottery painting only session - where you paint on ready made pieces of pottery, and does not include working with squishy clay.

HOW IT WORKS:

We’ll bring along a selection of our favourite pieces (think cups, bowls, plates, baubles, and hopefully treat jars and pet bowls if we can get our hands on them in time…)

Choose which piece you’d like to paint on the day - they’ll all be priced individually from £10-30 with most things around £16-22, and your £10 deposit will be taken off whatever you choose to paint. You’ll have full instructions on how to get the most out of your pottery painting (if you’re super keen you can watch a demonstration here before hand).

It’s a 2hr session so best to arrive for just before 2pm - we always advise two hours for painting!

If you’re bringing your dog for paw prints please have a read of this page before booking, but basically: we (with help from Jess Fox + hound) will paint their paw which only takes a few mins, and then you can decorate - or ask us to write your dogs name on - dead quick and easy as that.

After the session we’ll glaze + fire your pottery, ready to collect from our studio 4-6 weeks later.

So whether you’re coming for the pottery and pints while bring surrounded by other peoples dogs (the best bits of having a dog without the commitment), or bringing your dog for paw prints - it should be a real good time all round.

The pieces above are inspiration created in our studio - we can’t guarantee these exact pieces will be available to paint on the day. P.S. the paw prints pics are pale chalky colours as they hadn’t been fired yet.

GLAZING AND FIRING YOUR POTTERY:

We try our best to ensure that every aspect of the creative journey you take with us is fun and enjoyable. The final part of this journey involves the glazing and firing of your pottery up to temperatures in excess of 1000˚C. This process is carried out onsite by our studio assistants who treat each piece with the greatest love, care and attention.

We strive for perfection with every piece, however the kiln gods are not always on our side.

Painted ready made pieces: Occasionally glaze spotting can occur, as well as surface imperfections such as tiny bumps caused by brick dust flying around the kiln as it heats up, this dust can settle on items as the kiln temperature cools. If we feel it is safe to do so, we will try to fix glazing issues by re-firing the pottery. In the exceptional event of a piece of painted ready-made pottery cracking in the kiln we will offer compensation by way of a replacement voucher.

We hope you understand that we do everything we can to try and prevent such things, however it is not always possible. The unpredictable element can be both the charm and frustration of ceramics.
